History
The college was formed in 2006, but has a long history under different names at ANU.
The Research School of Information Sciences and Engineering (RSISE) is one of twelve research schools at ANU and was established on 1 January 1994. It evolved from the Department of Systems Engineering (1981) within the then Research School of Physical Sciences and Engineering (RSPhysSE) and the Computer Sciences Laboratory (1988) also within RSPhysSE.
The Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology (FEIT) was established in 1993. The Faculty and the Research School joined in 2004 to become one education-intensive research institute that eventually evolved into the ANU College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS) on 1 January 2006.
The move subsequently merged the undergraduate, research training, and research activities into two schools which were subsequently renamed, the Research School of Engineering and the Research School of Computer Science. This is our current model.
The Engineering program celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2010.
