Engineering at ANU
STUDYING ENGINEERING AT ANU MEANS YOU GET THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS - A TECHNICAL SPECIALISATION (MAJOR) AND AN INTERDISCIPLINARY SYSTEMS ENGINEERING APPROACH.
Engineering at ANU
Designed with industry and based on best practice, the ANU degree is a break from traditional , narrower, engineering degrees.
At ANU you will have a technical specialisation in studying one of our engineering majors listed below, but you will also study systems engineering.
This means you will have both breadth across a range of engineering disciplines, and depth in your chosen engineering specialisation.
What is Systems Engineering?
Systems Engineering is an interdisciplinary approach to engineering that prepares students to design, analyse and manage complex interdisciplinary systems or projects.
In our rapidly advancing world organisations need modern engineers who can adapt to new technologies, lead engineering teams and have skills across multiple fields of engineering.
At ANU you will study core engineering courses and disciplines, but you will also specialise by taking an engineering major.

The mobile phone
Once a simpler electronic and communication system, this complex product is now an example of the need for engineers that have an understanding of a range of engineering disciplines.
Today, mobile phone technology relies on a number of engineering diciplines and are still expanding into new fields like solar energy.
