By the end of the session, participants will have the knowledge and skills to:

  • discuss the benefits for using online assignment submissions
  • choose and create the most appropriate assignment type for their purpose

During the session:

  • Benefits of online submissions
  • Different assignment types and their uses
  • aAdvanced uploading of filesa assignment type and all its options.
  • Setting the available and close time
  • Making the description available before the open date
  • Why you should allow late submissions
  • Send for marking button- why not to use it
  • Links to the calendar
  • Naming conventions
  • Student experience when uploading an assignment
  • Links to the gradebook

Advanced content (if time allows):

  • Marking online and ways to give electronic feedback

BIO:


Dr Peter Evans is visiting the ANU from USQ and is working with the Central Wattle team. Peter has many years of experience supporting staff and students with Moodle and will run these sessions for CECS with assistance from Lauren Kane and Malcolm Pettigrove.
